Nice weather and Kumar, the guy that runs this place, shared a few Wigwam stories then treated me to breakfast down the road at Chris's Burgers and shared a few more.

The century old Cucamonga Service Station isn't open on Wednesdays but, as I rolled slowly through the alley, a fellow inside the fence took notice and opened the gate so I could park. Sammy was doing a little work on the lot as he waited for someone who was going to work on an old Coke machine. I didn't get inside the building but I did get a close look and some pictures.

California's Madonna of the Trail marks the National Old Trails Road and Route 66 in Upland.

My son drove up from San Diego to meet me at La Brea Tar Pits. There are similarities to 2011 but plenty of differences, too. I somehow managed to capture the whole family exiting the museum. That's Noah, Fletcher the Elder, Fletcher the Younger, and Kayla. Noah found a friendly sloth as we walked around the grounds.

Here's Denny's Plate of Chicken and Waffles at Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles. Following dinner, we all headed south to San Diego.
