I hung around the motel as long as I could and caught up just a little on photo editing and such. The only stop I made before leaving Eagle River was at Odd Man Rush Brewing where I sampled a couple of beers. Music cassettes aren't nearly as interesting as LP sleeves and it takes a lot more of them to cover a wall but it's good to see somebody doing something with them.

A second cousin of mine lives in Anchorage and that was my destination. Once I reached Cousin Deb's, time was spent swapping stories rather than taking pictures. These pictures are from the Girdwood Forest Fair which was in the third and last day of its forty-first run. It's filled with local artists and craftsmen and they've definitely got the right attitude. Deb bought one of these hand carved spoons for a gift and pointed out the booth where she has purchased cutting boards for gifts in the past.

We drove a little farther south to reach the Begich, Boggs Visitor Center which was just closing as we arrived. Deb's husband, Pat, who is off working in Deadhorse for a few days, was involved in building the center back in the 1980s.
