The day started with enough rain to keep me from walking along the shore
but not enough to keep me from walking two blocks to breakfast.
Two Sisters
Bakery was highly recommended and they deserve every bit of praise
they got. That cinnamon roll back at the
"Centre of the Galactic
Cluster" was pretty good but nowhere near
this good. And, on top of all the good stuff
to eat, they support a Little Free Library and a reading bench.

I did make a pass through what signs indicated was Homer's business
section but I stayed in the car and shot pictures through the rain.
Obviously not all of Homer's fun establishments are in Old Town or on the
Spit.

This is the Visitors Center for the 3.4 million acre
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge of which the
Aleutian islands are a part. My drive through the business section was
partly just to keep me busy until this place opened and I'm glad I did.
Glad that I saw that section of Homer and glad I hung around long enough
to get in here.

The drive back to Anchorage was uneventful and mostly wet. Pat was home
when I got there. We headed out after Deb arrived and I followed them into
a couple of breweries. Both King Street Brewing and
Midnight Sun
Brewing offer up some mighty fine brews and Midnight Sun serves some
very good food as well. Three of Pat and Deb's offspring met us there,
along with their spouses, and a good time was had by all. Yes, someday we
will see the other side of Pat & Deb.
