This is the target that led me past Ed Walker's Drive In and Ari's Little Italy. I learned of it from Mike Curtis who refers to it as Lee Wood's World of Roadside Americana. Lee hasn't decided on an official name yet. Whether or not I would have made it past the gate on some other day is unknown but I it sure wasn't going to happen on Christmas Day when no one was around. I expected nothing more and was quite impressed just ogling this collection from the driveway. My understanding is that the guy with the chain was the first giant purchased and that he is more or less a very tall stand in for Lee as an advertisement for his towing business. That, and everything else I know about this collection, came from Mike's video of his visit, and rather than me passing on bits and pieces, you can see it for yourself. It's here. I knew about the video when it came out because I subscribe to Mike's Youtube channel. You might want to do that too: 2LaneTraveler.

ADDENDUM: Jan 3, 2026 - Maybe Mr. Wood was busy signing papers in Illinois while I was gawking at his collection in Arkansas. The very next day, Dec 26, the American Giants Museum in Atlanta, IL, announced that it had been purchased by Lee Wood. As part of that announcement, I learned that the Arkansas collection had a Facebook page under the name Giants Garage. That page was created on Jul 25, so I guess the collection did have an official name at the time I visited. Mike's video was posted on Jun 26. The Giants Garage Facebook page is here, the one for the American Giants Museum is here.

Lee Wood's World of Roadside Americana is just a few miles west of Hot Springs, AR. I drove through town where the national park visitors center was open and a few people were out enjoying the 70° weather. Few, if any, businesses were open, however, and the only photo I took was of the big Christmas tree in the middle of town to use for today's background.

Even though I slipped off a time or two, I generally traveled US-70 east. I've done this multiple and have grown accustomed to the bayous and bald cypress that often appear beside it in Arkansas, but the first time I thought I might have dozed off and woke up in Louisiana.

In Brownsville, I got a few pictures of Billy Tripp's Mindfield with some of the day's last light. It's not easy to pick out additions, but I'm pretty sure the plane is new since the last time I was here.

As I mentioned earlier, today's background is the big Christmas tree in the center of Hot Springs, AR. The recent loss of Raul Malo was on my mind when it came time to pick the musical component of today's page. Because the Mavericks released a full album of Christmas songs in 2018, there were plenty of candidates.
