A little calm before the storm as I leave Trenton. Then, between Elizabeth
and Newark. a crossing of the direct road home.

|
Then it was downtown Newark, and before long, New York City was filling
the windshield. There were a few reminders that I had passed this way
before although I think it was always in the other direction. Finding a
parking spot near the river was surprisingly easy and soon I was
photographing amateur sailors relaxing on the scenic river.

I passed the
Hudson Riverfront 9/11 Memorial on the short walk to
the ferry dock.

This is the Weehawken ferry terminal. I'm calling this a National Old
Trails Road terminus although the ACSC guides do show it continuing inside
Manhattan.

|
Because it was so close, I stopped by the spot where Alexander and Aaro
had that terrible meeting.

|
I then headed north to stay at the same hotel, though a
different room, as last December. I would
meet up with my son at a local brewery a bit later, and a bit after that,
we were joined by his wife and son for dinner
