No, this isn't on the Pike's Peak Ocean to Ocean Highway but I passed it
on the way back to the highway from my motel this morning and it seemed
like something I should take a picture of.

In case you haven't figured out where I am, here's another clue. Yes, I
spent last night in Bethlehem, PA, home the the Just Born Quality
Confections, the heartland of Moravians in America, and a whole bunch of
history.

Some historic highways are lined with numerous businesses and other points
of interest with direct connections to the highway. That is not true of
either the National Old Trails Road or the Pike's Peak Ocean to Ocean
Highway. The NOTR does have the Madonna of the Trail Monuments which means
that every state it passed through has at least one roadside attraction
with a direct connection. The PPOO lacks even that. So I'm left looking
for things to photograph that are related to any road or even things
related to things related to roads. This building at the east end of
Kutztown, PA, caught my eye because of the word "MOTOR". I have
since learned that it housed a Buick dealer into the 1920s.
This pet themed totem pole is at a veterinarian on the other end of
Kutztown. I'm posting it because it also caught my eye and to tell you
that in between these two pictures I drove past a Silk City diner without
even noticing it. It is completely hidden under wooden siding.

These photos were taken in Myerstown, PA, but similar photos could have
been taken in any of the stringtowns I passed through today. I drove
through enough towns with a main street lined with a mix of businesses and
residences touching or almost touching each other that I finally tried to
record one.
