Today in Blairsville, I found a proper diner (Dean's) for breakfast.

This good looking sign is in Latrobe, PA.

This 1907 bridge over the Youghiogheny River in West Newton, PA, is slated for repairs in 2025. On the other side, I had more pleasant countryside to drive through.

In 1926 I would have exited West Virginia on a ferry from this point in Wellsburg. Today I did it on a shiny new bridge that opened less than a year ago in September, 2023. Yeah, there's a little rain on the windshield,

I did have to drive north a bit to reconnect with the PPOO and head west on what is now OH-151. The railroad underpass leads to the town of Hopedale where the First National Bank building still looks pretty sturdy.

A little west of Cadiz, the road passes one of the barns -- one per county -- painted with the logo for the state's centennial in 2003. Tappan Lake, with some of its near shore surface covered with water lilies, was not here when the PPOO was operating. It was created in 1936. Instead of cruising by the lake, PPOO travelers may have passed through the now submerged towns of Tappan, and Lacyville.
