My room at Charley Creek Inn included breakfast, and when I checked in I was given a certificate for breakfast for two. Getting breakfast dates just isn't getting any easier so I wasted half of my certificate. I had a very nice breakfast for one, though. I took a picture of the Hoagy Charmichael and Cole Porter that was in the background of an earlier photo. Th spotlight in Hoagy's face doesn't help. As I mentioned, the place uses a 1920s theme and there is sheet music of the period on the tables. It was, apparently, a time when the word "corn-fed" was a popular term of endearment.

Since I didn't get an exterior shot of the venue last night, I grabbed one on the way out of town.

Even though Wabash is not much more that a hundred miles from where I live, some of the path I followed home was through new-to-me territory. That included Marion, Indiana, where actor James Dean was born. A large sign on the corner of 4th and McClure points to a new (2015) monument in a park just a short distance away. Apparently there is an older star in the sidewalk but I missed that. I didn't miss the metal plaque or the stone marker beyond it. The back of the marker holds something of a biography.

Having now seen Dean's birthplace, it only made sense to visit his burial site a few miles away. I wasn't terribly surprised to find many indications of recent visits but neither was I expecting the personal notes, signed pumpkins, and pink flamingo.

A sign with a picture of a covered bridge prompted me to make a slight detour from my poorly defined route home. I crossed the 1877 bridge both ways finding a slightly more colorful view coming than going.

In Muncie, I fell for another not-quite-a-brewery. The only Thr3e Wise Men brewery is in Indianapolis. The place I stopped at in Muncie is a tap room that sells other beers in addition to company products. It's also a restaurant with a really good deal on a pizza and salad lunch so I left a happy and well fed man.

My last stop before reaching home was in Richmond, Indiana. I'd seen spots of color here and there as I drove and thought the Madonna of the Trail there might have a nice orange backdrop. She didn't although there were some bright spots in the park around her.
