As is typical with Route 66 journeys, the first step is getting into
position to start by zipping toward Chicago via expressways. In
Indianapolis I took a late breakfast break at Good Morning Mamma's. In
hindsight I kind of wish I'd sat outside but instead I enjoyed my
excellent meal at the boomerang-Formica covered
counter.

Restoration of the Lincoln Highway Ideal Section markers in Dyer, Indiana,
wasn't quite complete when I drove by in July but all was ready for the
September 17 rededication. Not only does it look great, the site can now
be reached safely on the new sidewalk.

When I realized that 3
Floyds Brewery was just a few miles away, a pause for the cause was
almost automatic. This as my second visit and I found the place less
crowded (My first visit was later in the evening.) and much more
enjoyable.
