There was a touch of rain in the morning, but I was soon out of it on
US-136. I stayed with US-136 to its eastern end in Speedway, IN, then
drove home from there on expressways.
The day began with a stop at the launch of a cool photo exhibit and ended
in a land of giants. Stops at a couple of restored gas stations filled the
time in between.
Another day of presentations highlighted by my modeling debut and the
passing of the mop.
A full day of presentations topped off with a first-rate concert.
The drive to the conference was mostly on expressways, but there was a
surprise visit to a renewed and relocated Route 66 icon.
What a long strange lack of trips it's been. I had no documented trips in
the first half of 2025, and just one in the third quarter. So this outing
to the 2025 Miles of Possibility conference in October will be
just the second of the year. There will not be any pre-conference road
tripping. I won't be able to leave Cincinnati until opening day, so I will
be driving directly there on expressways. It's a different story after the
conference, and I plan to follow Historic US 66 at least to Atlanta, IL.
Maybe beyond.
