I headed north on US-27 and visited a former British "colony" in northern
Tennessee. Darkness took me off the two-lane sooner than planned.
After following US-70N to Cookeville, I met Baby Boomer Bob at Homestead
and he showed me around the neighborhood. From online conversations, I
knew he was a good guy and meeting him proved me right.
A morning at The Hermitage and a night at the Opry with a little Hall of
Fame in between.
Super-slab to Louisville then US-31E to Nashville. Not much open along the
way but there was plenty of music in Music City.
Prelude
Lions and turkey and beer. Oh my. That's the typical Thanksgiving Day. The
Detroit Lions on the TV, a turkey with trimmings on the table, and a
supply of cold brew to wash it all down. This year, however, I'm doing it
a bit differently and setting out on a four day weekend road trip. But,
before I can talk about even the first mile, I need to express big thanks
to the friends who invited me to dinner and to my daughter who did the
same. Sorry I won't be joining you. I'll be reflecting on my blessings on
the way to Nashville.
