I took a less than direct route to breakfast and grabbed pictures of the
1908 State Theater and a local girl with one name along the
way.

Online reviews had indicated that the
Uptown Grill
was Bay City's best breakfast spot and a local I chatted with last evening
reinforced it. This morning, I verified it. Some my know that I frequently
order French toast in restaurants. One reason for that is it's something I
almost never fix at home. The menu here offers quite
a selection from which I chose the truly decadent Baklava French
Toast. What the menu calls "phyllo crumbs", I'd call
"chunks". It was excellent.

After breakfast, I quickly reached the eastern end of my target highway,
US-10.
|
|
|
The
Tridge was the only point of interest I had marked in the GPS for
today. It is a Y-style footbridge that crosses both the Tittabawassee and
Chippewa Rivers in a beautiful park with river access, bike & foot
paths, and more. I believe mine was the only vehicle in the lot with
neither a bike rack nor kayaks strapped on top.
After spotting the "Couple" from the center of the Tridge, I walked over to meet them and see things from their point of view. |

|
Much of this section of US-10 is divided 4-lane, but it did eventually
become 2-lane, and there was even a short detour around some repair work
in Scottville..
|
|
|
I will continue on US-10 tomorrow, but this was as far as I could go
today.
|
|
|
I ended the day in this room at the conveniently
located Blue Spruce Inn.
