This is where I spent the night. The 77 Inn and Grill is pretty much a no frills sort of
place but, as the name indicates, it does have a grill. It's where I ate
dinner while downing a couple Rolling Rocks and working on this site. Of
course you can see my room.

In the morning I headed south to meet up with fellow road fan Mike
Austing for breakfast. Mike continued his string of winning restaurant
recommendations.
Dee's Restaurant makes their own
mush and it was excellent.

Mike suggested I take OH-39 our of town and told me it passed close by the
World's Largest Cuckoo Clock. The clock runs on the
hour and half-hour. As you can see in the first picture, I supposedly had
about fifteen minutes to wait for the next show which gave me time to read
the sign and explore the immediate area. It's
a good thing I didn't walk too far away because the show started just a
little early. The door on the right opened and out came the musicians. The
cuckoo cuckooed, the band ompahed, and the dancers danced. Only the man on
the left, who held his hat as if ready to do something with it, did
nothing. Guess he's the boss.

OH-39 alternates between open and scenic countryside and clusters of Amish
businesses selling cheese, baked goods, and crafts. I stayed with it to
Millersburg where I parked beneath the sign and walked to the light to go
left. Millersburg Brewing has some good beer (I had a
Panther Hollow Vanilla Porter) and (according to the guys next to me) some
good food. That's Ed in the third picture. I joked with him on the way out
and his wife suggested a picture. Ed happily agreed but notice that the
person who suggested it makes sure not to face the camera. The last
picture is of the brewery from across the street.

By pure coincidence, the Holmes County courthouse is right across the
street from the brewery.

Mike had told me about the historic Hotel Millersburg and if it had been later in the day
I might have stopped for the night. It looks quite cool so maybe next
time. After all, there is a brewery just down the street.

In Millersburg, I turned onto US-62 and reaffirmed my belief that this is
one of the coolest driving roads around.

At the edge of Columbus I turned off of Sixty-Two to visit Dave Wickline
in Worthington. This is the former 66 Roadhouse and it occurred to me as I
pulled up that I might not have posted a picture since the re-branding.
Here you go.
Inside I learned that it was National Grilled Cheese Day and that Dave had
a special of the day to celebrate. After a little visiting and a super
bargain dinner, I headed to the expressway and home.
