In addition to supplying yesterday's final stop, Mike Curtis, in a follow-up email conversation, offered a couple suggestions for breakfast. I picked the Auburn Diner largely, I think, because it was a little closer. I sure wasn't disappointed. The three cheese omelet was excellent. The 1930s Bixler was restored and relocated from another location in town following a fire. I don't know if it had an outdoor eating area before but it does now.

I didn't realize that I was going to be driving by Mike's other suggestion but that's just what I did. Of course, I immediately wanted to eat there too. It's a 1951 O'Mahony.

It was still fairly foggy when I finally drove beyond the town. Not enough to affect driving but enough to make distant views rather fuzzy. The first picture is from US-20 near the Orchard Vali Golf Club and the second is from a bypassed section now signed Ortloff Road. The third picture is in the town of Lafayette which is apparently where US-20 becomes officially scenic

I kind of got excited when I saw scenic and historic markers on the same pole, then I hit a road closure right up the road. I have encountered several construction site with one lane traffic but this was the first actual detour. It turned out not to amount to much and I was back on the route in just a couple of miles.

Here are a couple more New York long views just because I like them. The first is about three miles west of Richfield Springs and the other about a mile west of Sloansville.

And one shot of a Massachuttes road just to show what one looks like.

No wheel and no wagon. Just one horse and apparently some jacuzzis. My room was just fine although I did ask to take a look before signing in. Seems like I used to do that more often.
