Day 1
Rollin' on 42
Day 2
Rockin' in Cleveland
Day 2
Rollin' on 3C
|
I drove OH-3/3C Highway to its end point in Cincinnati then had dinner at
Cincinnati's oldest bar which is right on the route. I took pictures of
many of the same things I photographed in 2001 and a few new things as
well.
No long drive today. Just thirty or so congested under construction miles
to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and back.
I got a pre-sunrise start at the Ohio River then cruised US-42 in
wonderful sunshine to within striking range of Cleveland.
This is my first multi-day outing in what was going to be a big travel
year. A trip postponed multiple time from the previous August was to
finally happen in April. Conference related outing were to fill most
of June with a major cross-country trip taking up parts of July and
August. None of that happened, of course. This three-day one-state trip is
launching on the day after the de facto end of summer, Labor Day. The
"corners" in the title are the northeast and southwest corners of the
state of Ohio making it close to the longest drive I can make without
crossing a state line. It's a repeat, more or less, of the third trip
documented on this site, the original
Corner to Corner to Corner in 2001.
Like that 2001 trip, I'll follow US-42 from the Kentucky line to
Cleveland, and OH-3/3C Highway back. Unlike that 2001 trip, I'll be
traveling alone.
