I didn't leave home particularly early but it was early enough that I had
breakfast on my mind. An hour or so from home, a little online searching
turned up
Outside the Box Cafe in Jeffersonville, Ohio. The
reviews were good, it looked promising from the outside, and a greeting
from the regulars at the "liars table" when I entered left no
doubt. It's family owned and operated and the family that owns it also
owns a pig farm which produces all the pork served in the restaurant. I
ordered what I took to be the smaller of a couple of specials and
this is what I got. It was all great,
especially that sausage, but I gave up way short of the halfway mark on
that stack of pancakes.

It seemed reasonable, on the rock and roll focused journey, to make a two
mile detour to pass through a town that shares its name with a Credence
Clearwater Revival song. This isn't the place John Fogerty had in mind
when he wrote the song (I'll be there in about a week.) but it's good to
know that, if a musician did get stuck here, lessons and instrument
repairs are available.

My roosting place is a little south of Cleveland in Independence, Ohio.
The nearby Melt
Bar and Grilled showed up in a search for breweries and that's where I
headed for dinner. The brewery claim was totally false but they do have a
good beer selection and an interesting cheese centric menu. My
cheddar with salami was killer and came with
about twice as many fries as I could handle.
