I’ve just finished the first day of the drive to the Jefferson Highway Conference in Joplin, MO. Because it lacks the tours and presentations typical of conferences, it’s being called a celebration rather than a conference; it is coordinated with the Missouri Route 66 group, which makes it fitting that my first night on the road is spent at this iconic Route 66 motel.
