I’m on my way to the Route 66 Miles of Possibility conference in Springfield, IL. I could have waited until Thursday, the day it starts, and made it in time for the first official activity, but I wanted to reach Springfield in time for an unofficial morning activity. That unofficial activity is a tour of the Ace Sign Company. Besides, getting close the day before the official start lets me have dinner at the Ariston and spend the night at the Carlinvilla Motel.
This entry lets blog-only subscribers know about the trip and provides a place for comments. The journal is here.
I remember all the young girls congregating by the door to see Old Abe.
A highlight of the conference was when we went to Springfields oldest continually operating restaurant afterwards.
Yep, that was most enjoyable, and seeing those girls get excited about Abe was pretty cool, too.
There’s hope for the younger generation.
